Scouting the 2018 Draft: Matthew Liberatore

Matthew Liberatore is a 6'5", 200 lb LHP from the Arizona HS ranks.  He has performed well in showcase tournaments which, based on one interview I found on video, he seems to have been participating in since he was as young as 12 years old.  According to PG, he's had his FB up to 95 MPH, but usually sits in the 91-93 range.  He backs that up with a fairly advanced curveball and changeup.  His delivery is basically upright with just a hint of drop and drive.  His release is 3/4, maybe high 3/4.  In one video, he was mixing in a few Johnny Cueto style quick pitches.

Lots to like here with a nice mix of present pitchability and future projectability.  I would rank him below RHP's Rocker and Hankins but not by much.
