-Kelly has been hot and cold but the talent and tools are still there.
-Do the Giants try to keep Hwang around for next year?  It's unclear to me if they control his contract or if he is a FA at the end of the season.

-Before you dump all over the Giants farm system, John Barr and Bobby Evans, ask yourself if you can remember a time when they had so many promising teenagers in Arizona.

  1. Hard to take too much comfort in the doings of the lower minors, kids are a million years. HOWEVER, in retrospect, let's take a look at the AZL Athletics who the Giants crushed today:

    http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2017_08_19_athrok_giarok_1&t=g_box&sid=milb

They don't have a single player hitting over .276, and only 2 hitting above .245. In contrast, yep, the AZL G's had six players hitting above .300 in the lineup today.

That's exciting, and I'm hoping the SF Giants can run off a few seasons of very high draft picks and find the 2020's versions of Posey, Bumgardner, Cain & Lincecum. Here's hoping!

    2. I think it's most all of us don't want many more repeats of the last 3 half-years, but, we won't know until next year whether this is bad BABIP and injuries (luck) or degeneration and decline (age) without sufficient replacements.
