Game Wrap 4/5/2017: D'Backs 8 Giants 6

Subpar pitching and defense was too much for the Giants offense to overcome in another come-from-ahead loss.  Key Lines:

Gorkys Hernandez CF- 0 for 5.  Gorkys is a good defensive CF, but  he's not the guy you want leading off against a RHP of the likes of Taijuan Walker.

Brandon Belt 1B- 2 for 5, 3B, HR(1), E.  BA= .286.  Great offensive game by Belt, but he muffed a grounder down the line which allowed runners at 2B and 3B to score and set up a third run which evaporated a 4-1 Giants lead in the 5'th inning.

Hunter Pence RF- 2 for 5, 3B.  BA= .400.  Pence had a slow start to the spring, but seems to be A-OK now.

Eduardo Nunez 3B- 2 for 4, SB(3).  BA= .538.  Nunez is not a great leadoff hitter either, but he's a much better option than Gorkys Hernandez.

Matt Moore LHP- 5.1 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 5.06.  In addition to the error behind him, Moore gave up some hard hits.  Moore was quoted as saying his curveball flattened out in the middle innings and became hittable.

Neil Ramirez RHP- 1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 13.50.  Ramirez got a K to get out of the 6'th inning, but then a strikeout to open the 6'th reached base on a WP and took 2B on a PB contributing to the 2 runs he gave up.  The 4 K's would indicate he had good stuff, though.

Dodgers topped the Padres 3-1 and the Rockies lost to the BrewCrew 6-1.  Rockies, Dodgers and D'Backs are 2-1 while the Giants and Padres are 1-2.
