Scouting the 2016 Draft: Nick Senzel

2. Nick Senzel, 3B, Tennessee.  B-R, T-R.  6'1", 205 lbs.

Senzel is a college 3B/2B from Univ. of Tennessee.  He seems to have settled in at 3B which is his likely future professional position.  He looks like a 3B with a thick, muscular body.  He's been a good college player hitting .315 and .321 his first two seasons.  Then, he went out and won the Cape Cod League MVP which will buy you some helium.  BA now has him listed as their #2 early draft prospect.  He is off to a blazing start this season hitting .389 with 9 SB's showing he has some speed to go with his hit tool.

There are questions about his glove and he has never shown significant game power, or I should say his power has been limited to gap power. There is probably a bit more power in there with some swing adjustments, but his body is maxed out with essentially no physical projection.  It would not be a shock if his stock dropped as the draft approaches due to these concerns.
