  1. Dr. B..

As a topic of future conversation I have an idea I would like to propose regarding the way in which the location of the opening 2 games of the World Series is determined.

First. - Dump the current and awful way this determination is now made. Find another way to motivate the players who are selected to the AS game to play to their full capabilities.

Next. - We now have daily Inter-league play. I propose MLB establish a system of an overall win/loss record in head-to-head competition between the 2 leagues. The team from the league with the most wins at the end of the season would win home field for the first 2 games of the WS (and games 6 &7 if needed, just as it's done now). Details such as cutoff-date or a tie would be negotiated and determined by agreement between MLB and the players' union.

    I invite your comments,
    John L of Modesto

    1. I guess we've seen several recent WS won by the team with homefield advantage. I'm not sure that is the case over the history of the series. I guess I just am not convinced that home field "advantage" in the World Series a big enough deal to really matter.
