Down on the Farm: 7/8/2011

AAA Tucson Padres edged the Fresno Grizzlies 4-3:

Justin Christian(LF)- 1 for 3, 2B, SB(7). BA= .333.
Conor Gillaspie(3B)- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .297.
Tyler Graham(CF)-1 for 4, SB(37). BA= .275.

Tyler Graham back in the lineup.

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels game postponed.

High A San Jose Giants defeated the Bakersfield Blaze 4-2:

Tommy Joseph(C)- 1 for 4, HR(10). BA= .248.
Craig Westcott(RHP)- 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.16.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets pounded the Asheville Tourists 9-1:

Carlos Willoughby(2B)- 2 for 4. BA= .259.
Rafael Rodriguez(LF)- 3 for 5, 2B. BA= .238.
Joel Weeks(C)- 3 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .319.
Robert Haney(SS)- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .250.
Ryan Bradley(LHP)- 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 3 K's. ERA- 5.72.
Justin Schumer(RHP)- 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 5.06.
Seth Rosin(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.58.

RafRod made BA's Not So Hot list today. Pretty unfair if you ask me. First of all, he won't turn 19 for a few more days. Secondly, he's just come off a long stint on the DL, or at least he was out of the lineup for some reason. My own goal for RafRod was for him not to get totally buried at this level which by my definition would be hitting below .200. He can repeat the level and still be age-appropriate. Way too early to give up on RafRod! Bradley's overall numbers don't look so great but over his last 8 appearances, he has an ERA of 2.30 over 15.2 IP. He is the son of the Giants minor league pitching coordinator, drafted out of Southern Illinois in round 30 last year.

Short Season Salem Keizer Volcanoes topped the Tri-City Dust Devils 4-2:

Jesus Galindo(CF)- 1 for 4, BB, 2 SB(13). BA= .234.
Brett Krill(LF-RF)- 2 for 5, 2B, HR(4). BA= .371.
Joe Staley(C)- 3 for 4. BA= .256.
Brandon Allen(RHP)- 5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 6.53.
Matt Graham(RHP)- 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 13.09.
Phil McCormick(LHP)- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 0.73.

Krill drills his 4'th HR in 4 games. Encouraging start for Allen. Baby Steps for Graham. McCormick off to a nice start to his pro career.

Rookie AZL Giants idle.

DSL Giants beat the Cubs 7-4:

Adalberto Mejia(LHP, 18 yo)- 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 1.19.
