AAA Fresno Grizzlies outslugged the Reno Aces 13-8:

Justin Christian(RF)- 2 for 6, 2B. BA= .301.
Edgar Gonzalez(SS-2B)- 2 for 6, HR(9). BA= .316.
Brett Pill(2B-1B)- 4 for 6, HR(19). BA= .318.
Max Ramirez(C)- 2 for 3, HR(7), BB. BA= .280.
Mark DeRosa(3B)- 2 for 4. BA= .400.
Dan Otero(RHP)- 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's, Save(5). ERA= 2.08.

How long before we see DeRosa back in SF?

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels scored 5 runs in the 9'th inning to defeat the New Britain Rock Cats 7-5:

Charlie Culberson(2B)- 2 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .274.
Roger Kieschnick(RF)- 2 for 4, 2B, BB, SB(11). BA= .267.
Chris Dominguez(3B)- 1 for 4, HR(3), BB. BA= .291.
Juan Perez(CF)- 2 for 4, 2B, SB(17). BA= .239.

Culby and Kieschnick make the highlights pretty consistently lately. Dominguez' shot came with a runner on base in the 9'th inning.

High A Bakersfield Blaze topped the San Jose Giants 8-4:

Gary Brown(CF)- 1 for 4, HR(8), BB. BA= .313.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets downed the Hagerstown Suns 5-2:

Carlos Willoughby(2B)- 2 for 5, SB(28). BA= .270.
Chris Lofton(CF)- 2 for 5, 2 SB(17). BA= .258.
Ryan Scoma(DH)-3 for 4, 3B. BA= .250.

Willoughby hitting .366 over his last 10 games and .317 in July.

Short Season Salem-Keizer Volcanoes edged the Everett Aquasox 2-1:

Reiner Roibal(RHP)- 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 3.90.

Rookie Arizona Giants pounded the Rangers 13-5:

Eldred Barnett(CF)- 4 for 6, 2 2B, SB(2). BA= .271.
Jose Cuevas(3B)- 3 for 5, 2B, HR(6). BA= .310.
Eric Sim(C)- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(2), BB. BA= .297.
Jean Delgado(2B)- 2 for 4, 2B, SF. BA= .294.
Kyle Crick(RHP)- 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.

Cuevas is on fire. Good to see the kid Delgado playing well out of the box. Kyle Crick, the Giants supplemental first round draft pick makes a successful pro debut!

DSL Giants topped the Yankees1 11-10 in 13 innings:

Alexis Almeida(1B, 18 yo)- 3 for 5. BA= .221.
Randy Ortiz(CF, 18 yo)- 2 for 5, BB, 2 SB(14). BA= .313.

Randy Ortiz is looking like somebody we'll see in Arizona next year.

  2. I guess Neal has a injured hamate.

    What was the effective date of DeRosa's 60 day DL? I checked out the injuries page and it stated 7/20 for DeRosa, which I consider a blessing. I want him to heal completely!

  3. They moved DeRosa to 60 day DL on 7/20, but I'm sure it's retroactive to when he originally went on the DL.
