Down on the Farm: 4/19/2011

AAA Tucson Padres defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 6-1:

Emmanuel Burriss(SS)- 2 for 4, CS(3). BA= .347.
Brock Bond(2B)- 2 for 3, BB, CS. BA= .241.
Thomas Neal(LF-CF)- 1 for 4, 2B. BA= .278.
Matt Yourkin(LHP)- 6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 6.19.

The Grizzlies had 0 SB's against the 2 CS's. Yourkin's K/BB looked better than his results. IMO, Burriss needs to be playing SS everyday in case the Giants need a shortstop mid-season.

AA Trenton Thunder edged the Richmond Flying Squirrels 2-1 in 10 innings:

Daryl Maday(RHP)- 5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.31.
Manny Banuelos(NYY, LHP)- 4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K's.

Not much else to see here. Banuelos is a highly touted Yankee prospect, at least to hear Yankee fans tell of it.

A+ Inland Empire 66'ers blanked the San Jose Giants 1-0:

Kelvin Marte(LHP)- 6.1 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K's, GO/AO= 12/2. ERA= 1.02.
Andy ReichardRHP)- 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 2.08.

SJ managed just 3 hits by Brown, Joseph and Fairley. Marte has pitched very well showing a strong GB tendency.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets topped the Delmarva Shorbirds 6-5:

Carlos Willoughby(2B)- 2 for 4, BB. BA= .283.
Raynor Campbell(SS)- 2 for 5, HR(2). BA= .211.
Adam Duvall(1B)- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .264.
Jeff Arnold(C)- 1 for 2, 2B, 3 BB, SB(1). BA= .250
Rafael Rodriguez(RF)- 1 for 4, BB. BA= .233.
Mario Rodriguez(LHP)- 6.2 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 4.34.
Stephen Harrold(RHP)- 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.69.

  2. I don't believe I've said it yet this year, but thanks for these capsule reports each day, Doc. I always read them, but don't always post a reply.

    I appreciate your thoroughness.
