Spring Training Game Wrap: Giants 8 Dodgers 7

The Giants ran their spring record to 13-4 with an exciting win over half of a split squad of Choking Dogs. Scottsdale Stadium had a record crowd and atmosphere was regular season, heck, it was PLAYOFF atmosphere as far as the crowd was concerned! Key lines:

Gary Brown- 1 for 1. Brown drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning. Great, great experience for the kid to learn the importance of game winning hits against the Dodgers!

Pat Burrell- 1 for 2, HR(2), BB. BA= .269. I read to Pat the Bat shortened up his swing a tad and he's been hot since then.

Cody Ross- 1 for 2, HR(2), BB. BA= .333. Cody is having a great spring.

Andres Torres, Freddy Sanchez- each had a triple.

Dan Runzler- 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 2.16. Runzler got the start because the Giants were hiding Jonathan Sanchez from the Dodgers. Sanchez got his work done in an intrasquad game.

BWeez, Edlefsen and Marc Kroon all pitched scoreless innings with Kroon getting the W by pitching the top of the 9'th.

Javier Lopez got roughed up for 4 runs, 3 earned. He's a guy some observers have pegged as being in for a regression. Hope they aren't right!
