Down on the Farm: 05-27-2010

AAA Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Memphis Redbirds 6-4:

Buster Posey- 1 for 3, 3B, BB. BA= .343.
Ben Copeland- 2 for 3, 2B, HR(2). BA= .258.
Eugenio Velez- 2 for 3, 3B, S. BA= .313.
Joe Borchard- 3 for 4. BA= .327.

Not much new here. Yes, Posey played 1B as he has done on several other occasions. Nothing to get too excited about.

Richmond Flying Squirrels soared over the Binghampton Mets 11-4:

Darren Ford- 1 for 5, 2B, BB. BA= .241.
Brandon Crawford- 2 for 6. BA= .244.
Thomas Neal- 2 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .255.
Conor Gillaspie- 5 for 5, BA= .256.
Andy D'Alessio- 3 for 4, 2B. BA= .280.

Hopefully this is a breakout game for Gillaspie even if they were all singles. He needs to get his BA up!

High A San Jose Giants blanked the Stockton Ports 2-0:

Brandon Belt- 1 for 4, 2B. BA= .384.
Charlie Culberson- 3 for 3, SB(5). BA= .288.
Eric Stolp- 8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, GO/AO= 15/4. ERA= 3.02.
Jason Stoffel- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K's, Save(10). ERA= 4.70.

Charlie Culberson continues his breakout of sorts. Stolp is an exrtreme GB pitcher who doesn't miss many bats which might not project to higher levels. Stoffel is getting the Saves and his ERA is coming back down but there is no dominance to be seen in his lines.

Low A Rome Braves edged the Augusta Greenjackets 5-4:

Ryan Lollis- 2 for 3, 3B, OF Assist- BA= .289.
Brian Salsbury- 7.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 8K's. ERA= 3.61.

Salsbury maintained a dominant K/BB in this game.
